John's legacy can be art of reconciliation

LAST Monday, more than 450 people came to Stroud’s Subscription Rooms to celebrate the life of one of Gloucestershire’s true greats - former Mayor of Stroud and leading environmental and peace activist, John Marjoram, who died recently aged 86.

The Quaker tradition was fully honoured at the funeral, with their tradition of shaking hands with “strangers” having much to commend it, reaching places that other reconciliation traditions can’t match.
