The George Ski Boat Club celebrated its 50th birthday on Saturday 15 November with a well-attended parade through the streets of George.
The cavalcade was followed by a function at their favoured venue, the Outeniqua Shellhole. A beautifully decorated hall and excellent spit braai added to a memorable evening.
The club was founded in 1975 by George Bendel and Harold Mileham, both of whom attended the parade. One of the highlights of the evening were recollections of some of the hilarious incidents and drama that took place over the years, shared by Bendel and former chairperson and honorary life member, Bruce Watney.
