FORTY-FIVE-YEAR-OLD Ramesh Verma, a journalist by profession, was taken aback one fine day when he woke up to find he had a blurry vision.

Splashing water on his eyes didn't help matters. He could see a patch in the right eye and wavy lines whenever he tried focusing on a set point.
Verma was, subsequently, diagnosed with Central Serous Retinopathy (CSR), a condition wherein a small amount of fluid collects beneath a tiny region of eye's retina (the light-sensitive tissue in the back of the eye), causing it to temporarily detach.
