Going for gold for Norton Radstock ABC last weekend was 13-year-old Shayne Smith, boxing for the first time at the prestigious Bristol Box Cup held in Thornbury.

Held over a weekend and attracting nearly 200 boxers, Shayne was up against a boxer from Waterside ABC, Rhys Darwen. Shayne had previously secured two wins from two bouts, while Rhys had six wins from 11 in a contrast of experience.
Unfazed by the occasion and what was expected of him, Shayne went at his opponent from the first bell, with both boxers showing strengths and determination and displaying the skills they've both learnt over years of hard training.
