Looking back on a season of two halves

Frome RFC welcomed players, staff, VPs and sponsors for their annual end of season awards dinner last month.

Director of rugby Garrie Webster, said: “The season has literally been like a game of rugby in the sense that it was in two halves.

“The first half was a struggle across all three teams with a genuine injury crisis. We managed to manage the players we had still fit, to be able to fulfil our fixtures across three leagues with players regularly playing out of position and at a higher level than normal.

“The Christmas break brought about a welcome rest for some tired bodies and the players returned with a renewed vigour and determination.

“We had a strong finish to the season, rescuing a precarious position for the first team and second team and as it stands, avoiding relegation.
