Latest baffling switch is sign of the times

Residents of Midsomer Norton have been left scratching their heads after a road sign appeared at the town’s entrance claiming they now live in Frome.

This is one of several such incidents across the West Country recently, with multiple communities discovering their welcome signs have mysteriously been switched or replaced. The phenomenon first came to wider attention earlier this year.

Peter Sas, a local pensioner, spotted and photographed the erroneous sign in Midsomer Norton over the bank holiday weekend.

“It’s either an ambitious prank, a sneaky invasion by the army of Frome, or a classic bungle by the daftest council in Bath and North East Somerset,” said Peter. “Local people can draw their own conclusions.”
