Edney blooms with trophy win

The Flower Centenary Trophy saw 124 men take part at Mendip Golf Club.

Division One went to David Jukes with nett 68 to finish just one clear of Ben Park. Alan Clark was third with 70, after countback from Ryan Sainsbury.
John Parham enjoyed a win in Division Two with 67, again finish-ing one better than Ben Roberts who beat Spencer Pocock and Alan Broadway on countback. Division Three was won by Eric Jordan with 68, he was two in front of Paul God-win after countback from Ryan Davis and Mike Tout.
The overall trophy went to Rob Edney, playing off 8, with a very fine 65. The gross prize went to Dan Owen with a one-under-par 69, but only after countback from Craig Adams.
The men’s Avalon C team recorded a fine 3-2 win at Stocl wood Vale, with victories for Kevin Brimble & Charlie Holmes, Clive Copp & Tony Logan and Cliff Hall & Richard Clifford. Things did not go so well at Wedmore, with just a half gained by Hall & Clifford.
