Builder's gift to aid cancer care project in town

A new cancer treatment outreach facility in Frome has been boosted by a housing developer's £1,500 donation to a charity.

Barratt Homes Bristol gave the funds to the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group (BCUSG) to help support the facility, set to be located within Frome Medical Centre.
It will provide systemic anti-cancer treatment, such as chemotherapy, reducing the need for patients to travel to Bath for vital care.
BCUSG, a purely volunteer-run charity, collaborates closely with medical professionals at the Royal United Hospital in Bath to fund projects that fall outside NHS budgets.
The charity's latest initiative in Frome will not only provide essential treatment closer to home for patients but will also free up capacity at the RUH oncology unit for other patients to receive treatment.
