This 17th year of celebrating the traditional craft of hedgelaying at the Mid Somerset Countryside day where dog classes of all kinds, together with a Land Rover meet and a tractor run through the villages near the Mid-Somerset Showground took place at the weekend on yet another rainy day, writes Rosie Sage.

Competitors came from Devon, Wiltshire, Bristol, Berkshire and all over Somerset.

The hedgelaying is in the style of North Somerset, which creates a good stock proof fence in this part of the world.
