2-ex officials face heat in historic verdict

For the first time in the history of the 'Forest Conservation Act' in the country, two senior forest officers have been convicted in Rajasthan for allowing mining in protected forest land.

The judgement against the officers, both over 70 years old, comes over seven years after their retirement.

The court decision dated 08.04.2025 pertains to a criminal case filed against AB Raizada, the then DFO of Karauli Soil Conservation Forest Division, and Hakim Singh, Assistant Conservator of Forest, for violation of the Forest Conservation Act 1980 in the court of CJM Hindaun City, Rajasthan.
