India, US close to pact on extra tariff removal

INDIA AND THE US are very close to a framework agreement that will see reversal of the reciprocal and the pact could be completed in a short period of time, Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal said on Monday.

He, however, refused to put a time frame to the agreement.“We remain engaged with the US very positively and with a very positive intent to see if we can close it earlier than later." The total additional tariffs that the US has imposed on India are 50%.
