M&M Plans To Set Up New Brazil Plant, Fortify US Ops

AFTER ESTABLISHING a stranglehold in the domestic market, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is going after large tractor markets overseas with plans to have a plant in Brazil and fortify US operations, the automaker's largest outside India.
AFTER ESTABLISHING a stranglehold in the domestic market, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is going after large tractor markets overseas with plans to have a plant in Brazil and fortify US operations, the automaker's largest outside India. M&M has lined up an investment of ₹3,500 crore over three years for the tractor business.
The share of export in total tractor volumes of M&M presently stands at just under 4%. The company's share in total tractors exports from India is at 16%, which is lower than the 44% share it has of the domestic market.
