Increasing voter skepticism demands a shift in pre-poll ads

AMID THE FLOOD of political advertisements dominating media spaces ahead of the February 5 Delhi Assembly elections, a survey by adtech platform iCubesWire reveals that 87% of Delhiites remain largely unaffected by these campaigns. The findings paint a stark picture of voter skepticism. Only 5% of respondents admitted that political ads influenced their opinions, while a mere 27% found these ads credible. Even more telling, 52% of participants were neutral about the trustworthiness of political advertisements, reflecting a broader disconnection between ad content and voter priorities.

Sahil Chopra, founder & CEO of iCubesWire, says the results reflect a changing electorate. "Voters today are far more aware and prioritize outcomes over marketing stories. Ad campaigns must evolve to address the real needs of the masses, focusing on transparency and credibility over aggressive promotion," he says.
