Govt extends RODTEP benefits to EOUs, SEZs

The government on Monday extended the benefits of the tax refund scheme—Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP)—to Export Oriented Units (EOUs), Advance Authorization (AA) holders, and units in Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
According to a notification issued by the directorate general of foreign trade (DGFT), the benefits under RoDTEP for these categories will be applicable from June 2025. These categories of exporters have been brought under the scheme after a gap of six months.
The RoDTEP benefits for SEZs, EOUs, and AA holders had lapsed on December 31, 2024. Since then, exporters had been urging the government to restore the scheme, especially amid emerging world trade situation triggered by the US President Donald Trump administration's trade policies.
