Railways Sets Freight Loading Target of 1,703 MT for FY26

It is 5.2% higher than actual freight loading achieved in FY25
THE RAILWAY BOARD has set a target to carry 1,702.5 million tonne (MT) of freight in FY26 to boost revenue, an official notification stated.
The target for this financial year is about 5.2% higher than the actual freight loading achieved in FY25, during which the railways transported approximately 1,617.38 MT of freight. In FY25, the railways registered a growth of 1.68% in freight transportation as compared to FY24.
