Measures to boost exports soon: Goyal
Financial Express Chandigarh
|August 30, 2025
THE GOVERNMENT WILL soon announce measures to support exports that will be facing 50% tariffs in the US market and will unveil steps to boost domestic consumption through reforms, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said on Friday.
"I can assure that in the days ahead, the government will be coming out with a variety of measures to support every sector, both to expand the domestic outreach and look for complementarities in other markets around. Our exports will exceed last year's exports. This year will define our self-confidence," Goyal added. Last year India's overall exports stood at $825 billion.
"The government is committed to make sure that all of you do not face any stress or difficulties in managing the current situation emanating from some unilateral actions," he said.
