Pressure grows on Sturgeon to quit SNP after arrest in finance probe

NICOLA STURGEON was today under growing pressure to resign from the Scottish National Party following her arrest.
The former First Minister was yesterday questioned for seven hours by detectives investigating SNP finances and funding. She has insisted she is "innocent of any wrongdoing".
But SNP MSP Ash Regan today called for Ms Sturgeon to consider giving up her party membership to spare new First Minister Humza Yousaf having to suspend her.
"I think she should consider whether it might be appropriate considering what has been going on for her to resign her party membership voluntarily, just temporarily until this situation is resolved," Ms Regan told Sky News.
