I have cancer with less than a year to live, says former England manager Sven

FORMER England manager SvenGöran Eriksson this morning revealed that he is seriously ill with cancer and has less than a year to live.

Eriksson, 75, told Swedish radio station P1: "Everyone understands that I have an illness that is not good. Everyone guesses it's cancer and it is. But I have to fight as long as I can." He added: "I know roughly that at best I have a year, at worst less. You can't be absolutely sure. It's better not to think about it".
Eriksson managed England between 2001 and 2006 following significant coaching success in Italy and Portugal.
His colourful private life often made the front pages after high-profile flings with fellow Swede Ulrika Jonsson and Football Association secretary Faria Alam.
He was also caught up in a "Fake Sheikh" sting set up by the News of the World where he was caught on camera admitting interest in taking the Aston Villa job in the build up to the 2006 World Cup.
