Boss hopes for good news at training, with Saka and Rice among the players fighting for fitness
ARSENAL could be without as many as eight players for tomorrow’s trip to Bournemouth.
Jurrien Timber (knee) and Thomas Partey (groin) will definitely be absent, although the latter could be back for next week’s crunch clash against Manchester City.
Mikel Arteta said this morning that Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have all been unable to train this week. Of that group, Martinelli is the least likely to face Bournemouth although there is optimism around the other three.
Saka suffered a kick to his foot in the draw with Tottenham last Sunday, while Rice came off at half-time with a back problem. Martinelli and Trossard have hamstring issues.
Fabio Vieira and William Saliba were not fit enough to make the squad for Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Brentford in the Carabao Cup.
