80mph gales warning as Storm Henk lashes southern Britain

A NEW storm was hitting London today with forecasts of 80mph gales and two inches of rain for parts of the country after the Met Office issued an amber wind warning for southern England.
Storm Henk, which was only named by meteorologists an hour before it was due to hit this morning, was predicted to bring very strong winds until 9pm.
Forecasters said flying debris was "likely and could lead to injuries or danger to life" amid possible "damage to buildings such as tiles blown from roofs".
