Gunman who tried to kill jailed for eight years

A gunman who failed in his bid to murder a 54-year-old in Edinburgh has been jailed for more than eight years.

Arran Reid pleaded guilty to attempted murder and discharge of a firearm when he appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday. Police were called to Pitcairn Grove in the Scottish capital at around 9.20pm on Thursday, May 22, following reports of the attempted murder of a 54-year-old man.
