POLICE CHASE ENDED IN FARMER'S FIELD

Three jailed after major £100k drugs ring bust

THREE gang members who were part of a drugs line worth more than £100,000 have been sentenced.

Connor Darwent was a drugs courier for the 'Abs line, and made regular journeys between Skegness and the West Midlands.

Officers carried out an enforcement stop on a vehicle he was travelling in on the A46, close to Thorpe on the Hill.

A stinger was deployed and he failed to stop, leading to a five-mile chase along the A46 before a tactical stop brought the chase to an end in the middle of a farmer's field within the grounds of Doddington Hall.

Darwent, of Donald Cobley Close, Hinckley, Leicestershire, was one of three people sentenced for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

The 27-year-old also pleaded guilty to an offence of dangerous driving, and was sentenced to two years and six months for both offences on Thursday, June 5.

Kirsty Reilly, 32, of Wappenbury Road, Coventry, was a known driver in the operation.
