A YOUNG girl has been praised for her courage to come forward after she was sexually assaulted.

The crime, in April, was uncovered when the victim, whose identity is protected, told her mother about what Mark Finney had done to her.
The 42-year-old initially pleaded not guilty to a charge of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching but later switched to a guilty plea after DNA evidence was gathered against him.
