Community groups which have joined forces to tackle poverty in North West Dumfries this week unveiled their bold plans for positive change.

Six well-known community organisations in the area recently teamed up to form North West Dumfries Community Development Network. They include: A Patch Ae Land, LIFT D&G, Lincluden Community Centre, Lochside Community Association, Summerhill Community Centre and YMCA Dumfries.
This network of anchor organisations have ambitions to improve the lives of residents and create more opportunities during this ongoing cost of living crisis.
North West Dumfries is the smallest council ward in terms of geography, yet it has a dense population of 13,958 - and has the most difficult challenges.
Nine of Dumfries and Galloway's 18 most deprived data zones are in North West Dumfries, according to the 2020 Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation.
