Residents and businesses across the region have taken the Mission Christmas Appeal by Cash for Kids to heart.

Last chance to spread some joy to children this Christmas

Today marks the last day for toys to be handed in so they can be distributed to underprivileged families across Dumfries and Galloway.

CFK charity ambassador for Dumfries and Galloway, Kenny Bowie, is urging residents to dig deep and either donate a present or make a cash donation to one of the drop-off points today-before 2pm.

He said: "The Christmas toy appeal is going great this year, and so is the requests for toys and assistance for Christmas. We are all aware that, in the current financial times, there are even more children who will wake up to nothing this Christmas and we want to change that.
