Time capsule fundraiser aims to pay for final stages of Leas Lift's restoration

TO mark 140 years since the opening of the Leas Lift, the Folkestone Leas Lift Company Charity is launching the Time Capsule Crowdfunder, offering the public a once-in-a-generation opportunity to contribute personal messages to a time capsule that will be sealed into the cliffside beside the historic lift.

The campaign, which launched on May 7, aims to raise more than £45,000 to support the final stages of restoration work on the Grade II* listed lift.

Donors can choose from four giving levels - £10, £100, £250 and £500 - each giving the chance to contribute a message for future generations.
