CHARITY UNVEILS CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES TO BE ENJOYED BY ALL OF THE FAMILY

THIS festive season, the National Trust is inviting visitors to experience the magic of Christmas at its places across the Peak District and Derbyshire.

From historic houses dressed in festive finery to enchanting trails through winter landscapes, visitors can enjoy a season full of wonder and tradition.

Highlights include historic houses transformed for Christmas, fairy-tales and seasonal stories brought to life, late-night openings and atmospheric twilight walks and winter trails for crisp outdoor adventures.

As the nights draw in and the air turns colder, National Trust places provide the perfect setting to celebrate the season. There’s no better way to embrace the festive spirit than by exploring these special places with friends and family.

Some of the Christmassy events people can enjoy include:

Hardwick Hall

Visitors can enjoy The Tale of Misrule and the Holly King at Hardwick Wintertide.

The party continues until January 4, offering both daytime and evening visits by lantern light.

Step into a world turned upside down at the “lantern house”, where the mischievous Lord of Misrule reigns supreme. Wander through rooms and gardens transformed by festive folklore, with nature running riot and tradition playfully cast aside. Hear tales of wintertide past, from the Holly King to the Tale of Misrule, and discover a celebration where storytelling, spectacle and seasonal mischief take centre stage.

Evening opening dates: November 28 & 29; December 5 & 6; December 12 &13 and December 19, 20, 21 & 22.

Kedleston Hall

Visitors are invited to experience a truly magical Christmas at this historic country house, until Sunday, January 4.

Step inside the hall and discover decorated Christmas trees and festive displays that bring warmth and elegance to its interiors.
