POLICE GIVE TIPS TO SHOPPERS GEARING UP TO SPEND
BLACK Friday is here and Derbyshire police have issued tips for shopping online safely.
Black Friday is a shopping day that has gained popularity here in Britain in the last decade or so, with prices often being slashed.
Initially brought to the UK by Amazon, it is now embraced by various retailers.
However, police say that cyber criminals also take advantage of busy shopping periods, so their advice is to Stop! Think fraud.
Police are urging shoppers to always take a moment before clicking on links in emails or messages. Instead of using links provided in emails, go directly to the official website of the business, using an address you know and trust.
