RADIO 1 PRESENTER MEETS THE MAKERS OF TANDEM AND FEELS THE LOVE OF CITY
RADIO One DJ Greg James was cheered on by the Derby public as he made his way through the city as part of his 1,000km Comic Relief charity challenge.
He is riding a tandem between Weymouth and Edinburgh over eight days and is now more than halfway towards his target. Called the Longest Ride for Red Nose Day, the event spans 1,000km and will see Greg stop off at towns and cities along the way.
As he rode into Derby on Monday, he was joined by the owners of two high-profile Derby firms who are supporting Greg’s challenge.
Dean Jackson is founder of specialist sportswear manufacturers HUUB, and James Knowles and Jeremy Murphy are owners of Mercian Cycles. They rode tandems alongside the breakfast show presenter after he stopped for lunch.
HUUB is supplying his technical kit, including cycling shorts and waterproof outerwear, and Mercian supplied Greg’s hand-built, one-off steel-framed custom tandem.
