Ockbrook wrap it up with one more win to beat rain

CHAMPIONS Ockbrook & Borrowash did not let up in their last match of the season, beating the weather to claim a five-wicket win away to Belper Meadows in the Beechwood Mazda Premier Division.

Nicholas Mann completed his excellent season for Belper with 87 not out as Belper scored 171-6 from the 35 overs the weather allowed them to bat.

Ockbrook used nine bowlers and George Brandrick took 2-39.

They were handed a revised target after the calculators were out and Ethan Debono underpinned the reply with 81 not out from 85 balls.

There was a wobble, with the early loss of Ethan Berlusconi and then three wickets for one run from 162, Mann having a bowl and taking 2-11, but player of the season Ximus Du Plooy hit 58 to ensure victory with 3.1 overs to spare.

Denby completed a quick win away to Alrewas, bowling the home side out for 84 in 27 overs.
