A DERBY butcher is looking to expand his portfolio just months after setting up shop in Allestree, with plans to bring local produce and smiling faces to a corner of Derby that's gone without.

Luke Barker opened Park Farm Butchers in Allestree's Park Farm Shopping Centre back in June after noticing a lack of butcheries in the area.

And, after roaring success over the last six months or so, including a “relentless” Christmas period, Mr Barker looked elsewhere in the city to see which areas were missing a top-quality butcher.

People of Oakwood have longed for a butcher for some time, with the nearest shops found in Little Eaton and Spondon, and a disused Betfred on the market was an opportunity Mr Barker couldn’t turn down.
