FINAL DAY TO INCLUDE A TWO-HOUR 'QUIET TIME' TO BECOME A MORE INCLUSIVE FAIR
A POPULAR Derbyshire fair will now be a five-day event, with the extended run time branded an "incredible opportunity" for local businesses.
The next Ilkeston Charter Fair will go up from four to five days after receiving approval from the Home Secretary.
The historic autumn street fair, which includes rides, games and food stalls, will run from 6pm on Wednesday, October 15, to 8pm on Sunday, October 19.
The final day will see all rides open and include a quiet time with no lights or music from 1pm to 3pm to create an accessible and inclusive event for all visitors.
The extension of the fair followed a six-week public consultation which found that most residents were in favour of the celebrations continuing for another day.
