Derby want flying start as they travel to face Bowdon

DERBY aim to carry on from where they left off in the second half against Manchester last weekend when they travel to face Bowdon in Regional 1 North West tomorrow (2.15pm).

After trailing 24-3 at halftime at home against Manchester, Derby hit back to draw 24-24 and even had a chance to win at the end.

Nathan Bevan-Brown, Fred Chell and Archie Murdock scored second-half tries for Derby but Josh Bing-ham’s late penalty kick drifted wide.

Tomorrow it's about making sure they're on the front foot from the start.

“Bowdon seem to be on a good run after winning their last two, they have some good momentum,” said Derby head coach Liam Slatem.

“So it’s going to be an interesting fixture for sure. But if we take into the game how we finished the last, with that energy and character, we can get something.
