SANDERSON DEALING WITH SHIN SPLINT ISSUE

- By BRIAN DICK

JOHN Eustace has revealed Dion Sanderson is having to manage a shin complaint after leaving the defender out of Derby County's FA Cup defeat to Leeds United.

The centre-back, whose loan from Birmingham City was made permanent at the start of this transfer window, had started the previous eight games for which he was eligible and 23 of the Rams' 26 Championship matches.

But he was omitted from the squad which lost 3-1 to their Premier League visitors on Sunday, with Rams head coach Eustace telling BBC Radio Derby: "Dion is fine, he has been playing with some shin splint problems.
