Connor ready to dig in and make the Shovel the 'best pub there is'

THE new owner of a Derbyshire village pub has revealed big plans for the venue.

Connor Hancox has taken over the Malt Shovel in Shardlow and says he wants to turn it into the “best community pub in the area.”

Connor, 24, decided to take over the pub after successfully running The New Moston Inn in Manchester.

“It's been a childhood dream of mine to run my own pub,” he said.

“The people in the area are all excited for a young lad coming in, the opening of the pub has sparked a lot of attention from local residents.”
