T was an emotional moment when Sir Trevor McDonald said goodbye to newsreading on ITN 20 years ago.
Known for his iconic sign-off, “And finally,” often delivered with a slight pause, his farewell broadcast on December 15, 2005, came after 32 years with ITN and the theme tune from his days presenting the News at Ten in the 1990s was played as a tribute.
