AI to track residents behind on council tax

NEW technology will be used by Derby City Council to track people behind on council tax or rent.

Labour councillor Hardyal Dhindsa, who is responsible for the council's use of AI (artificial intelligence), has praised how new technologies have made the authority more effective.
This comes just weeks after he said in a statement that the use of AI had saved the council going bankrupt, unlike other councils across the country during tough financial times.
Clir Dhindsa hopes new technologies will help the council avoid having to write off thousands of pounds from missing payments.
