SPECIAL EVENT TO OFFER MEANINGFUL RECOGNITION OF CITY'S CATHEDRAL QUARTER STORES

- By TELEGRAPH REPORTER

BUSINESSES across Derby's Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter Business Improvement District (BIDs) are being recognised and celebrated as part of Small Business Saturday this weekend.

Updated figures from the BIDs has revealed the area boasts 300 small businesses - reflecting the city’s vibrant and thriving independent community.

These new statistics come ahead of Saturday's event and highlight the Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter Business Improvement District’s (BIDs), continued support in the area.

Small Business Saturday celebrates the achievements of new enterprises, small business entrepreneurs and independent shops across the UK and encourages people to shop local.

The day shines a spotlight on real people, passion and creativity behind the UK's much-loved 5.45 million small firms and encourages the nation to show their support, particularly by spending and shopping small.
