Winde to release cop-gang links report
Daily Voice
|November 11, 2025
WESTERN Cape Premier Alan Winde is set to finally release a three-year-old report into alleged links between SAPS and gangs, 'probably later this week'.
The report was handed over to Winde by the Western Cape Police Ombudsman in 2022, now after years of pressure and the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) having launched an investigation into the extent of infiltration, Winde has also explained why the report was never made public.
The DA-led government initiated the probe after a stark ruling by Western Cape High Court judge Daniel Thulare.
