Shaping brighter futures by promoting healthy pregnancies
Daily Voice
|September 09, 2025
SINCE 1999, the world has united on September 9 to mark international Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Day - and 2025 will be no exception.
-
Around the world, concerned professionals, together with individuals living with FASD, their families and caregivers, will gather at 9am to share a brief prevention message. At exactly 9:09am, ceremonial bells will ring out breaking the silence around this often under-diagnosed condition. Participants will also distribute and wear FASD awareness knots a powerful symbol of unity and commitment to raising awareness about the dangers of prenatal alcohol use, and the urgent need for supportive services.
This year, the Foundation for Alcohol Related Research (FARR) proudly launches an international FASD campaign that empowers pregnant women to enjoy healthy pregnancies, and in turn “shaping brighter futures” for their children.
