Two men killed in Bonteheuwel and Delft as violence rocks city

IT WAS raining bullets on the Cape Flats yesterday as multiple reports of shooting incidents and deaths came flooding in from across various areas.

Gunfire was reported in areas such as Bonteheuwel, Delft, Wesbank, Ottery, Elsies River, Mitchells Plain, Hanover Park and Manenberg to name a few.

On Monday morning, the body of a man was found in Citrus Street, with gunshot wounds to the back and chest.

Bonteheuwel Ward Councillor Angus McKenzie reported: “Shortly after 5am this morning, an unknown individual was shot and killed in Citrus Street, Bonteheuwel.

“While there is an assumption that the incident may be gang-related, this cannot be confirmed at this stage, despite reports of gunfire being heard at the time. SAPS, Metro Police, and Law Enforcement officials are... conducting investigations.”
