Four shot dead in gun violence on the Cape Flats as holiday season begins

IT HAS been a bloody start to the December holiday season after four lives were claimed by gun violence in the Mother City.

A drive-by shooting in Manenberg left one man dead and another injured yesterday, with police arresting one suspect after responding to the scene.

Hours later, two brothers were fatally shot in Belhar and in Cloetesville, Stellenbosch, an adult male was reportedly gunned down.

Manenberg crime fighters told the Daily Voice that the incident was linked to another flare-up in a turf war between Fancy Boy gang members and Hard Livings.

Manenberg station commander Brigadier Jayce Naidoo said that occupants of a black Hyundai Atos targeted two males standing on the corner of Duinefontein and Turfhall Road.
