GERMANY coach Julian Nagelsmann has defended Florian Wirtz amid criticism of his slow start at Liverpool, insisting the 22-year-old is still adjusting to the demands of the Premier League.
Liverpool signed Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in June for a club-record £100 million (R2.3 billion). Despite high expectations, the midfielder has yet to record a goal or assist in his first seven league appearances.
