FIVE katjies were found with their heads chopped off in Hanover Park, leaving the community outraged by sickening act of animal cruelty.

Hanover Park Community Policing Forum (CPF) Media Officer Kashiefa Mohammed said that the cats were found in Lansur Road on Tuesday and added that it is a horrible act.

Mohammed said: "Whoever did that, it is animal cruelty and a cruel thing to do to animals. Why would a person chop off an animal's head?

"An animal is only there for your comfort and to cuddle. An animal doesn't do bad things to you. A cat is just a humble animal.

"Whoever did this cruel act, I think justice must be served, because an animal can't speak."
