A GOLDEN Arrow bus driver died yesterday morning while driving after he fell ill behind the wheel of a bus causing him to crash into a pavement and hit a tree.

- BY MARSHA DEAN

The incident took place in Brackenfell around 7.30am and more carnage was avoided as there were no passengers onboard.

When authorities arrived at the crime scene the 37-year-old bus driver had already passed away and was declared deceased on the scene.

Bronwen Dyke-Beyer, Public Relations Manager for the Golden Arrow Bus Services, confirmed the incident and said the driver died while on his way back to the depot.

Dyke-Beyer says: “Golden Arrow can confirm an incident which occurred at approximately 7.30am on Wednesday morning on Brackenfell Boulevard.
