NEW Zealand loose forward Wallace Sititi will miss the Rugby Championship opener against Argentina as he continues to recover from ankle surgery, coach Scott Robertson confirmed.

Sititi, who earned the All Black Player of the Year honours in his debut season last year, had already missed the France series and was targeting a return for Saturday's match in Cordoba. However, his recovery requires at least another week, ruling him out once again.

His absence presents opportunities for Peter Lakai to be recalled or for uncapped Simon Parker to make his debut.
