TOMMY MAKINSON was hailed as one of Super League's "best-ever wingers" after his deadly double fired Saints to a sixth straight win.

The England international, 31, is enjoying a blistering run of form and yesterday's brace made it 10 tries in his last five games.

Significantly, it lifted him to eighth in the list of Super League's all-time try scorers with 174.

Saints boss Paul Wellens is the fifth highest, with 199 from fullback, and the iconic former player paid a rich tribute to his rejuvenated wideman.
