Wildlife plan 'too baffling'

A SCHEME to release beavers into the wild has stalled, say nature experts.

The Government has not granted a single licence since the first pair of beavers to be legally released in Purbeck Heath, Dorset, back in March.

Around 40 expressions of interest have reportedly been sent to the Government since then, 20 of which are from the Wildlife Trusts.

But none have yet been granted a release licence.
