BATTLE TO HALT BET TAX HIKE A WINNER
THE Daily Star's campaign to save horseracing from a betting tax hike is roaring to the winning post, Treasury sources say.
Rachel Reeves is now odds-on to leave the levy on the sport untouched at 15% in next week's Budget, below the hike to 21% that industry chiefs feared.
They warned the move could cost 40,000 jobs.
