MANUEL UGARTE has vowed to show Ruben Amorim he is worth the £50m Manchester United paid for him.

Ugarte joined from Paris St-Germain a year ago but endured a tough first season as United finished 15th.

‘The Uruguay midfielder failed to live up to his hefty transfer fee and was an unused sub for United’s last two games of the season, including the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.

But Ugarte impressed in United’s 2-1 win over West Ham in the opening game of their US tour at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.

And he insists he is 100 per cent behind boss Amorim as he continues his rebuild at Old Trafford.
